Grilled Cheese Crescent

I was pretty tired this week, so I wanted to make something quick and yummy for Bug. I looked in my fridge and saw, H-E-B Singles and Crescent Rolls sitting right next to each other. I figured I must try it out. It would be like a grilled cheese, right?

Unwrap your cheese and pop open your crescent rolls. You can use any type of cheese you would like, I just so happened to have American. You will use a half slice in each roll. Next, roll up your dough with the cheese inside.

Put the rolls on a baking sheet and brush melted butter on them. When all buttered up and ready to go, put them in the oven on 350 for 13 minutes.

These were such a hit and the entire family loved them!

Jello Bath

I will have to admit, most of my ideas are from Pinterest! Since we were on the idea of fun bath play, I came across a jello bath post. Sounds fun and I figured messy play in the bath is a great way to contain mess and easy to clean up. I didn't just want a jello bath, so I put together some ice play. I mixed the food coloring and water in the cup, then placed them into the freezer.

The next morning, they were all frozen and very easy to scrap out of the cup.

I prepared one box of jello, but I will probably make four boxes next time. When the jello was set, I covered the tub with it, adding the ice play and sea creatures.

Jello is great for young toddlers because of the slippery texture and great opportunities for sensory exploration. Bug looked very puzzled at first.
But then started enjoying it!
And what would a jello bath be without a Cheesecake Popsicle?

Spaghetti Bath

Bug loves to take a bath, so we decided to have some fun while in the tub! I cooked some pasta which I bought from Dollar General. I drained the pasta and dyed half of it blue and the other half green. The pasta was sticking together a little, so I added some Vegetable Oil, making it feel like seaweed.

I added green food coloring to the bath tub water, making it look like a swamp. Bug has tons of sea animals, so I threw those in too along with the pasta.

She didn't know what to think at first..

But then she loved it, realizing she can eat this too!

Don't forget to take the spaghetti out before draining the tub!

I love doing sensory activities with bug! As she pours, dumps, builds and scoops she learns different concepts. It's not always about making a mess and getting dirty!

Tapioca Play

I didn't have any ingredidents to make homemade playdough, so I decided to put something together using tapioca.

I mixed pre-cooked dry tapioca with water, food coloring and some sprinkles!

The more water you add, it will feel like slime which makes it much more fun to play with. I gave Bug some cooking tools and she loved digging right in, but of course she had to taste it.

Next time I may try cooking the tapioca instead of using it pre-cooked.

Edible Chocolate Finger Paint

We had a messy play date with Edible Chocolate Finger Paint! It was great because the kids were able to eat it. I added water to a packet of hot chocolate mix, and mixed it together. You don't want to add too much water, or else it will be runny. I used a total of four packets! You can also try pudding or yogurt instead of hot chocolate.

Kaelyn, loved playing in the finger paint. It did not take her long to get messy!

As we began to give her more paint, she decided to rub it all over her face and in her hair!

Noah, wasn't too sure what to think about Kaelyn.
A couple of days before we tried the chocolate finger paint, we used yogurt. I used the strawberry flavored yogurt and divided it up into two bowls, I then added food coloring!
